Re: Shop Presses/alfa-digest V8 #669
Obie Fayth asks:
"My question though, is what do I use to adapt the mandrel(?) on the press to
the different sizes of bushings/bearings and walnuts I might need to crack? I
have used sockets before, but surely there is something better out there..."
I suggest you check out Harbor Freight, or MSC Industrial Supplies. They may
have standard sets of press mandrels and adaptors. Better yet, if you know
someone with a machine shop connection, check out their cutoff/waste pieces
of solid round bar stock and mechanical tube. A little lathe work and
presto- you have a piloted pusher piece! The fun of it is, Obie, this
hardware could take years of development work, job-by-job!
