You might also (or just) need a rebuilt alternator. But starting with the
simplest thing, try charging the battery or another battery. (The worn-out
alternator or starter solenoid probably drained the battery too). All of
these things would seem to indicate a car that has sat for awhile -- has it?

PS Don't know any shops around Albany---there are a few here in Metro Boston.
If you can isolate what needs replacing maybe you can ship the core for a
rebuilt one.
