Poor Grundig radio reception in 156 Sportwagon?

A mate of mine just bought a 156 Sportwagon, which is nice.

However, it has a Grundig radio fitted, and the reception around town seems
to be very poor. If he drives under anythung (even seems plastic is a
problem!), the signal goes very weak or disappears.

I only have a very short look at the car, is the aerial in the windscreen on
these cars?

Is Grundig the standard fitted radio/cassette?

Does anyone else have this problem?
