Brakes, slotted & drilled rotors

Personally, I believe that slotted & drilled rotors for the 105/115 series
cars are a bunch of hooey simply because the stock ATE brakes are excellent.
The stock brakes in my 72 GTV are the best I've ever had the pleasure of
using. I use the semi-metallic pads in an effort to reduce the accumulation
of black brake dust on my beautiful white car.
Rotors used to made to last, unlike modern cars where the rotors can warp
from a single high speed panic stop. I've never had to replace an ATE rotor,
not in an air-cooled VW or an Alfa. So I'd say that before succumbing to the
hype, ask yourself, do my stock brakes work poorly?
