I may be flamed for this, but I believe cross drilled rotors serve very

story.....

No flaming from me here, but just a different opinion. I installed Brembo
cross drilled brakes on my BMW 328 last year and felt that the difference
was noticeable. I never got to use them on a track event so I can't
comment on reduction in fade. But the drilled holes do offer more bite
against the pads, which results in shorter stops w/less pedal effort. You
could actually feel the extra work the holes were doing on hard stops.
Its kind of like a growl or groaning sound. That combined with the
ability to remove heated gases at a faster rate make the drilled brake
option a good one in my book. I definitely plan on getting some for my
Milano as soon as the current ones need replacement. I've also heard that
there is less likelihood of pads glazing over under light city braking
resulting in squealing.

your mileage may vary.
