Question about batteries and spiders
I like to see the positive battery cable covered on all cars no matter
the proximity to sheet metal. A dropped wrench or laying the dip stick in
the wrong place could cause problems otherwise.
I run group 24 Die Hard batteries in all my Alfas. For the 84 spider
race car, I bought a shorter battery, a group 34, I think. My thinking was
two fold - get the battery away from the sheet metal and save a pound or two
of weight.
Of course, the 84 battery is trunk mounted, but the terminals are very
close to the bottom of the fender, so the principal is the same. The stock
Alfa has covers for both battery terminals from the factory.
