Discontinued tire sizes

Digesti,

Here's some background regarding Hoosier discontinuing 14 in tire sizes:
Their minimum production batch used to be 50 tires, but has changed to (If I
remember) something well over 100 tires. I used to run 225/45x15 Hoosier
Autocrossers, and used two sets a year. This is also a popular size for some
Datsun Z cars, as well as Datsun 2000cc Roadsters, but there just weren't
enough of us to make up the larger order requirements for this size. They
still make the bias ply "Street TD", a road race compound.

The Autocrosser was a bias tire with very soft compound. Really great on
asphalt, and would eat race tires on cold asphalt. But... economics reared
it's head, and Hoosier discontinued several Autocrosser sizes due to low
demand. If a customer can meet their minimum build quantity, they will make
the dicontinued sizes. I have a Corvette driving friend who is scouring the
country trying to get enough people to order another run of the 275/45x16
size.

Alfa content: I changed to the autocross compound Hoosier radial. This is
actually faster, as long as the weather is warm. This also requires a
different car set up, and driving technique.
