Magnecore Followup - Problem Solved - Thanks

Just thought it would be nice to post a followup note regarding my
difficulties with the Magnecore wires I was installing on my Verde motor.
After talking with AlfaBill and the Magnecore folks, and from feedback from
several digesti, it was clear that there was no history of problems with bad
sets of wires but that they can be a bit tricky to fit. So I tried again,
and with the aid of a little dielectric grease applied inside each boot they
all slipped on and clicked into place just fine.

You might remember in my initial post that I complained that the Magnecore
wires appeared to be about an inch too short, based on a comparison with
stock. This was an incorrect statement, as when I tried again I found that
the length difference was only about a quarter of an inch. My problem was
that the rubber plug well seal had slipped on the stock wire when I pulled
it out, giving the illusion of a greater delta.

What seems to be the case is that the Magnecore design has a tightly fitting
boot, which without the grease does not want to slide down the plug to allow
the contact to clip onto the plug. Also their plug well seal ends up
stretching a bit as the wire clicks onto the plug. Both of these are
probably by design, since the Magnecore website talks about the importance
of sealing the plug wells and getting a tight fit around the plug insulator.
However, they might cause problems for the first time user, as they did for
me.

Anyhow, everything is now fitted and ship-shape, and appears to work fine.
The Magnecores are a nice product, they look good (red wires on a black
car), and their customer service, along with AlfaBill's, is excellent. A
huge improvement over my disintegrating stock wires, and cheaper than at
least one supplier quoted me for the OEM wires. So thanks to all who
provided help and advice, and count this as a positive rather than a
negative experience if you are considering this product. Now all I need to
do is rebuild the motor, and I can drive my Verde again!
