AROSC info + whining

Just received a notice from Jay Negrin reminding folks to join / rejoin
AROC / AROSC so they can attend the National Convention.

Yeah, I know, this is probably not the proper venue for this submission
since the Digest is not (to the best of my knowledge) sponsored by AROC.

Jay said to call New Jersey but didn't include a number. Since I just
made the call (VISA is now $70 lighter), did have a nice chat with
Shayna Geller (toll free - 1-877-399-AROC). True I tried to get a senior
discount (my b'day today). No luck, "You'll cut me a deal?" No way.

Since I (if one can call it that) make my living working on mostly
Alfas, should have been a member all this time.

That said, I'm not a time-trial person, but would like to start going to
a few events just to see the current state-of-the-art of the vintage
Alfa racy cars. (Isn't it interesting how the older the cars get, the
faster they run?).

(Only for So. Cal. folk): Who picked the current meeting place for the S
in AROSC. It is (certainly for me) virtually impossible to not have to
drive on if not THE, certainly one of the (literally) busiest freeways
in the world. And the traffic don't disappear on a Friday eveningon the
contrary).

While it was far (again literally) from 'handy', when the club met at
Alondra Park near Lawndale / Gardena, there were huge turn-outs, it was
also reasonably close for those in Orange County who wished to attend,
and there was a great place to park / display one's Alfa. Generally the
Harbor Fwy. actually moved as opposed to the dreaded Santa Monica
Freeway's pretty much (7/24) permanent gridlock.

Ever occur to whoever picked the current spot and to those who agreed
(all of whom must live on the West Side) the reason for fairly poor
attendance is Not just Alfa pulling out of the US and having fewer
members?

Okay, even though I've not been assigned my new membership number, don't
see any reason I can't polish up the (really) old and quite worn soap
box.

When oh when do we get to Spring Forward?
