164S Electrical Questions

I've got a few little electrical issues with the 164S:  First, I keep
blowing the fuse for the backup lights.  Second, neither the "dome"
lights on the "C" pillars or the reading lights in the same fixture with
the dome lights work, even with new bulbs all around, but the little
light that illuminates the switch for the reading lights do work.  Could
these two issues be related (i.e., do these things share the same fuse)?
And why does the circuit with my backup lights always blow its fuse
within a day or two of putting in a new one?  Comments from anyone who
has overcome these problems very much appreciated.
