SPICA Belts
In all of my years of owning and driving SPICA equipped Alfas I've only had
a pump belt fail once. I had been diligently scraping all of the built up
crud off the front of the engine and cleaning it up with that 'foamy brite'
stuff from Kragen and afterwards it just wouldn't start. Of course, being a
young dolt back in those days I started my troubleshooting by buying a $180
fuel pump - to no avail. I think I then averted my attention wholly to the
ignition system for a couple of days. It was only after I had exhausted
every possibility that I checked that damn belt.
The only other 'gotcha' on SPICA belts that I've heard of is when you drop
the distributor lock nut and can't find it on the ground.
