Yup, me too. Shut-off for 3+ years. In fact, there's an interesting anecdote
that I wrote a few years ago on the 164 Home Page about the IR system being
incompatible with red neon at the local burger franchise.

AmI worried about theft? Just a little. I figure there is not much demand
for chop-shop parts and most joy riders would choose an Auto tranny or a car
they were more familiar with! I use a steering wheel club in questionable
locations

the first thing i did when i bought my LS was disable
the alarm.  bloody annoying wastes of money imo...
