Spider clutch problem UPDATE!

Wow!

Thanks for all the input!  Too many to respond to 
individually so here's the update:

The clutch pedal lever is in good shape, no broken welds 
BUT the pin exhibits a good amount of play from wear and 
tear.  This was the bit of play I described when the 
clutch pedal is all the way out or depressed slightly.

The problem seems to be the clutch engaging too close 
off the floor.  The adjustment required seems very small.

I'm going to adjust the clutch freeplay at the linkage 
to the clutch lever first (it looks nearly all the way 
out as it is), re-bleed, and try it again.
