Ian,

It can be done easily.
Only front driver side windows go thru control unit.
All three other windows go thru switch directly.
Just buy each control unit for each window.
The modification is not very complicated if
you find the wiring diagram( page #814 in my book ).

In fact it is even easier to just bypass the control
unit and let switch control it directly.
