    Many moons ago I saw an article in I believe an old "Alfa Owner" about 
installing a bumper mechanism in the cross member under the rear/transmission 
motor mount.  It consisted of a bolt with a rubber bumper on the head (seems 
the article called for a Chevy hood stop).  This was installed in the hole in 
the rear of the cross member with a nut on each side and was adjusted snugly 
against the rear of the transmission mount boss.
    So I fabricated one and installed it in my Guilia TI and darned if it 
didn't help!  I believe my Duetto came to me with one installed.
