Many moons ago I saw an article in I believe an old "Alfa Owner" about
installing a bumper mechanism in the cross member under the rear/transmission
motor mount. It consisted of a bolt with a rubber bumper on the head (seems
the article called for a Chevy hood stop). This was installed in the hole in
the rear of the cross member with a nut on each side and was adjusted snugly
against the rear of the transmission mount boss.
So I fabricated one and installed it in my Guilia TI and darned if it
didn't help! I believe my Duetto came to me with one installed.
