Spider Vent Window Latch

John, I'd like to add two, um, er, additions to Bruce Giller's and Paul
Weimer's informative answers as to how to (semi permanently) reafix the
vent window latch.

I use the same glue and procedure, but also recommend you place a piece
of 180 or so grit sandpaper on a flat surface and make sure mounting
surface of latch is perfectly flat. This also removes any residue of
original adhesive. Also make sure glass is pristine.

Secondly, when finding the 'correct' mounting position, don't go for a
location which will cause a great deal of stress on the adhesive. One
needs to walk a fine line between too loose and vent window will likely
leak and too tight which will no doubt pop off the latch sooner, rather
than later.

I wouldn't clamp it overly tight. You do want some adhesive to remain
and not be all squished out.
