euro vs. US versions of 115 series cars/115 performance mods

I would like to add that euro versions of the 115 series cars came with 10.4
compression pistons vs. 9.0 pistons in the US versions.IAP's catalog
indicates that the 10.4's are worth 5 hp.
My contribution to the thread concerning performance modifications is
limited to my personal experience souping up (yes,I grew up in the 50's) my
73 GTV and my 74 Spider. The easy approach is to list the changes:
      1] 73GTV
            10.4 Borgo pistons
            ported head
            ported 1600 Weber intake manifold
            oversize valves w/performance valve springs
45mm Webers w/Euro airbox(w/snout modified to run Spica
            fresh air hose)
            IAP 2643 Pittatori 11mm 312deg. cams
            IAP/Ansa header
            Electric fan
MarelliPlex distributor w/modified advance curve(by Alfa
            Ricambi)
Main & con rod bearings teflon coated by Polydyne
            MSD 6AL ignition box
            stock exhaust center section
            straight(no resonator)tailpipe
            adjustable upper A arms
alignment set up with negative camber & toe out to reduce
            understeer
            Koni shocks
            Shankle supersport springs
            Shankle swaybars
            15x7 Panasport wheels w/195/50x15 Pirelli P700Z tires
      2]74 Spider
            stock Spica injection
            10548 Euro cams
            IAP/Ansa header
            electric fan
            RML ARPI 4101R distributor/ignition
            Shankle Quadraflow air filters
same suspension as the GTV except I've added polyurethane
bushings to the front end, trailing arms, etc.
            same exhaust as the GTV
15x6 American Mag wheels w/195/50x15 Pirelli P700Z tires
The net result of these mods are 2 really fun cars that are MUCH faster and
handle MUCH better than my stock 77 Spider.I don't know if either car is
SCCA legal for Street Prepared-who cares.I agree with the digesti who 've
opined that they modify their cars to satisfy their personal whims. The GTV
is still streetable, thanks to the MSD box,a modification that only costs
$180.Both cars are still very reliable.Ciao,Jim T
