The funny part of this is that H2O vapor at high altitude (yep WATER) is
about 200 to 250 times as powerful a greenhouse gas as CO2 (or any of the
freons) !! IF there is a climate change problem, it is most likely from
aircraft con-trails !

No, it is not. The alarmists (as in your references) deal in "proven
reserves". Try reading the definition of "proven reserves" some time. I
would suggest Obert (Internal Combustion Engines and Air Pollution) as a
good source to refer to for an accurate definition of the term.

Also would suggest that you do a little bit of research to find out what
Shell is doing with microwave (yep, like you cook with) realease and in
situ cracking of shale oil in the Piceance Basin (near Meeker, CO). You
might have fun with this, they are pretty close mouthed about their new
technology. But, be assured that the amount of reserves (unproven) JUST in
the shale in the Piceance Basin are enough to make the number of zeros
correct! And the projected ccost of production with the new tech is WELL
below anything tried in the past.

Not to mention the "off the books" reserves in the Fraser delta, or the (as
yet) "unproven" stuff in the Caspian basin!

Why on earth do you THINK a bunch of Saudis have been de-stabilizing
Afghanistan for a decade or more, and now that we blew them out of there,
that the Ayatollahs are trying to perpetuate the problem?? Try the idea
that a pipeline through western Afghanistan to a deep water port could get
enough Caspian oil to market to 1. Bring real economic stability to Russia
as well as all of the ex-SSR istan republiccs. 2. Put enough oil out to
flat put the Saudis, the Iraqis AND the ayatollahs into the poorhouse in
short order.
