ah, ha. but, the new Alfa 2.0L JTS is a mass-produced engine, where
the 195 HP 1.8L Type-R and latest 200 HP 2.0L Type-R (S) are not.
Those Type-R engines are hand built limited editions motors..
A more fair comparison would be the mass produced 2.0L 160 HP
i-VTEC Honda engine and this new 2.0L 165 HP JTS Alfa engine.
(this makes you wonder if the 147 GTA will be a 2.5L V6
as predicted or a 'Type-R'-ish hot version of this new 2.0)
I'm just mentioning this because there were various articles that
pointed out that the Alfa engine is indeed the most powerful
mass-produced 2.0L engine in the World right now.. and the
torque is not bad at all. ;] Way to go Alfa!
Now, why can't they bring over a nice 147 to the US with this
engine... We need a nice hatchback in this market now that
we are getting this foogly things like new Civic hatch and
the Protege 5. They are ruining the original hatch appeal..
They look like mini-stationwagon/minivans :<
take care,
Ryan
ps. speaking on hatchbacks, it seems the 147 and Peugeot
307 have inspired VW to make the Golf V a return to sportiness! :))
