164 HVAC filter

SAAB dealers always have these filters in stock. The older style fits the 
91 models and the newer style probably fits the LS and later cars. Others 
report success with furnace filter material as a substitute in the original 
frame. That's too much messing around for me.

It is unnecessary to replace the filter when discarding the old one but it 
is such a pleasant feature and the cost relatively low, why would you?
