Re: Good toolset for beginners

I'm certainly not gonna get into listing what constitutes a
good tool set. Just about any book on auto repair at the
bookstore and library will have that.
You definitely want deep sockets; I haven't had much trouble
with the wall thickness of Craftsman tools. You can't beat
the replacement warranty on Craftsman.
Your next step after basic tools would have to be a good air
compressor and some air tools.
Oh, make sure you've got a good hydraulic jack and some REAL
jack stands, the kind with the ratchet lock, not a pin.
I have a set of REAL long cheap Chinese 3/8" and 1/2" drive
extensions, like 20", 30" and 40" that have been invaluable
over the years for separating engines from transmissions and
other undercar tasks.
Just a couple of thoughts.
