on not murdering him.


A simple method of setting the initial timing.

Align the static timing mark with the pointer,
so that cylinder #1 is ready to fire. Pull the
sparkplug wire off #1, arrange it so that you
can see the spark jump. Turn the ignition on
and turn the distributor counterclockwise (advanced)
until you hit the stops. The points will be closed.
Slowly turn the distributor clockwise. When the
points open, you'll see the spark jump. Tighten
the holddown, and fire it up. This method is
accurate within a couple degrees.
