Allow me to un-stump you!  ;-)

The brake sensors work by going open circuit, not short circuit - ie when
the circuit is broken, the light on your dash will come on.

If you are running pads with no sensor (as I currently am) you need to make
up a short jumper lead to connect the two pins of the plug that you will
find under each front guard.  You should be able to buy some small
connectors from an Auto parts or electronics store that will match the
plugs in your car.  Make up some jumpers about 2" long, and short the plug.

If you still have the old pads, the easiest option is to cut off the plug
on the wire to the brake pad.  Cut it with about 25mm of cable left on it.
Strip the wires, solder them and insulate them, them plug back into the
car.  Problem solved!
