164 PS Rack Leak

After inspection, it appears that my power steering rack is leaking on our
164L.  Looks like the passenger's side boot is filling up with fluid, which
usually means that the seal on that end of the rack is failing.  I checked the
shop manual and it provides only a vague cut away drawing of the rack.  It
basically says to replace the rack for any leaks.  As this isn't a
particularly fun job and is quite expensive, I was wondering if anybody has
ever replaced the seal in a rack?  I believe I could get a matching seal from
an industrial bearing supplier, but I don't know what it entails to get to the
seals.  Any ideas about this?
