Re: War of 1812, little to no Alfa content
The Battle of New Orleans was fought after the war was
over. The US had already surrendered but word had not
reached that far south yet. The reason T Jefferson had
to donate his personal library to be the literary seed
of the library of congress is because the British and
Canadian forces destroyed the original. That is also
why the White House is White. It was white washed to
cover up the burnt parts, the result of the Britsh
troops occupying it. It is not revisionist history,
just history. Of course this occured along time ago. I
assume my friends in America have forgiven us for
beating up on them. I am a Canadian working in New
York and my phone rang off the hook on Sept. 11 with
calls from Canada asking me to make sure every
American I met knew that Canada was thinking of them
and praying for them. I even got calls from old high
school chums whose main concern was the well being of
a people we consider our closest friends.
