lexus success in fla vs mb/bmw success in la
hi charlie, ewe say:
"Easy one! S. Florida has a big population of retired Jews. More than you might expect in the USA will not buy things from Germany. Plus, the heavy concentration of retirees skews to a price bias..."
=================
as a jew, i can *absolutely* assure ewe the fact that a car has originated from germany has *no* bearing *whatsoever* on whether or not a jew is gonna purchase a car. no *negative* bearing, anyway... ;~) my 'rents both drove benzes for years. a trip to the hotsy-totsy jewish country club parking lot here looks like a bemz/bmw/porsche parking lot. but, the lexi are starting to move in... and, as for folks who retire to sofla, the difference in cost between a lexus or benz is *not* gonna be the deciding factor. quality/comfort factors *will* be...
as for those in la, who believe the high cost *is* positive a factor, well, i can believe it. prolly the more someting costs, the better. hell, in la, folks would prolly buy the benz even if they liked the lexus more, yust cuz the benz is more money! where *ewe* live, my friend, is the anomaly, not sofla! ;~) lexus is now the top-selling luxury brand in the usa, in spite of la-la land...
