Main bearing cap removal

I'm trying to remove the main bearing caps from a 105 1600 engine.  
Numbers 1 and 4 came off easily by hand.  I made tools similar to the 
factory ones and got numbers 2 and 5 off easily.  But number 3 
(center) is stuck.  I've gotten it about 1/8" out, but it wont go 
further.  One side is moving freely, but the other is tight.  I've 
tried gently heating it with a heat lamp until it was too hot to hold, 
but that did not help either.

Any suggestions?  Is this a bad sign?
