I always try to open the doors on the 164 by the top of the door once I've *gently*
pulled the outside door handle just enough to unlatch the door. This greatly extends
the life of the outside door handles and becomes almost second nature after a while.
IMHO the doors on the 164 are pretty d^mn heavy and the outside handles are not really
heavy-duty enough to take the load repeatedly.
