Install relays.

You can wire the power leads to the headlights through the original fuses,
or from the battery.  You then wire the switched part of the relay through
the headlight switch, and can source it from a switched power source if you
want the headlights to turn off when the ignition is switched off (the
switch part of the relay won't present much load on a switched circuit).
