GTV-6 Exhaust

Michael Williams discusses alternatives to Strebo exhausts for the GTV-6
and mentions a concern with rust in wet climates (like upstate New
York).

Allow me to propose an alternative, which I have used successfully on my
GTV-6: when the rear section rusted out right where the pipe enters the
rear silencer (they all do that), I bought a stock rear section and sent
it out to Jet Hot to be ceramic coated inside and out. My main reason
for doing this was to reduce heat transfer from the exhaust to the rear
inboard brakes, but a side benefit is that Jet Hot offers a rust through
guarantee on new products treated with its high temperature ceramic
coating.

While I had the option of having my exhaust painted blue or several
other bright colors, I opted for black. Unlike every other black
exhaust I have ever had on a car, so far the black is staying on. Ask
me in another three or four years whether this experiment is a success.
