radios (actually important)

Despite working fine when I got my GTV6 after it'd been sitting for 3
years, and working fine as I played tapes for just about every second
I was in the car over the last two years and 15,000 miles, after
storing my car for three months between summer and Thanksgiving, I
discovered to my horror that the tape deck no longer worked. I have
no interest in fancy new stereos, all I ask is that the cheap Sanyo
receiver with a tape deck and digital tuning (those are the only
features I want) work again (it's winter time so my "antenna" has to
perform its other duty of defogging the backlight, so it's tapes or
nothing). Does anyone have any tips on a tape deck that, rather than
playing tapes, starts pulling the media out of the cassette? If not,
does anyone have a twin-shaft receiver with a tape deck and digital
tuning that they'd like to give me for Christmas (okay, maybe I'd be
willing to buy one)? If all else fails I'll find a cheap receiver on
eBay, so my next question is how do I install a DIN stereo on a GTV6?
Can I just buy some kind of metal sleeve at Radio Shack that the
receiver slips into, and glue said sleeve into the car?

Thanks gang,
Joe Elliott
