The body manual on the Spider 1991 - 1994 recommends that the ECU be removed
from the car before any electrical welding is done. Good enough for me. When
I welded the drivers side seat support I removed the ECU. And when I weld
the crack in the left front frame rail, I'll remove the ECU. I won't take a
chance of frying the ECU just to save 20 minutes work to remove the ECU.
Let's see 20 minutes divided by the cost of a new ECU = $$$$$$$$ per minute.
