Fwd: Help with Alfa Spider

I received a telephone call from these folks as well as the email. Fred D.,
John H., (maybe Don Black? Grinch?) would seem to be naturals to help these
folks out (hey, you guys can be be on TV!).

These folks did a DYI series on a "Shelby" Cobra kit car sometime ago. That
car was auctioned off to help a charity (I forget which one) and there is
some thought of restoring this Alfa and then auctioning it off for the 9-11
Fund. The car is supposedly a 1969 "Duetto", with Webers. I spoke with the
individual responsible for the interior restoration and they are not that
knowledgeable about Alfas, but they are learning fast! They have the Alfa
Owner's Bible and have received some information and assistance from Vick
Auto.

Pat Braden's book on Guila restoration, the Schiffer book on Spiders (for
some advertisements), maybe some items that the Alfa Owners' Clubs have,
would seem to be relatively easy items to point them to. I don't have a
whole slew of other references, but I'll bet that the collective wisdom of
the Digest can certainly fill out their knowledge.

They have said that they will do the usual end-of-reel acknowledgements,
which could be a real boon for the Alfa Owners' Club and the ARA.

Come on folks, let's see what we can do here!

thanx!
