Alfetta motor sizes

Not being remotely an expert on Alfetta GT motor sizes, I've (wisely)
stayed out of the discussionhowever...when John Fielding (in V8 #247)
stated: "...The 1750cc motor was never used in the Alfetta...The 1800cc
motor was designated as 016.78 and was in fact a swept volume of 1779cc
with a bore and stroke of 80mm x 88.5mm...."

*********
The 1750 as used in the '69 Round-Tail, GTV (and perhaps others?) had /
has 1779cc's. I'm certainly not saying it is the same engine as the
1800cc, just that they both have the same actual displacement.

The apparent use of the 1750 terminology was "...to evoke Alfa's glory
years in the pre-war period."

Now we turn the program back to the experts.

Sure hope this hasn't already been discussed, I missed it, and now look
foolish. Oh well.
