Exhaust manifold nuts

Having just purchased an exhaust system for my 77 Spider, I'm in need of
some
advice on the type of nuts and bolts to use to put it all together. I don't
want the nuts and bolts to morf into one piece after a year. I was thinking
of
stainless hardware but would like to here for others.

A lot of us here use VW Rabbit exhaust manifold nuts.  They are 12mm, self
locking and generally easier to work with and live with.
