Carb support rod

I need a carburetor support rod for a European-type 1750 or 2000-series
105.  The one I planned to use won't fit, as it turns out.  It has an
approximately 45-degree bend about 2"/ 50mm from the upper end, so the last
bit of the rod is in the same plane as the plate that mounts to the carbs.
 Sketch #1 is a crude attempt to show this.  Other support rods I've seen
have the bend right at the base of the plate (sketch #2) ; these will fit.
