glycol effects, was: to tap or distill?

Thanks for making the point more than I did about toxicity of ethylene glycol.
I certainly did NOT want to give the impression that glycol ingestion was OK
even in small amounts.
I did not remember exactly, what the health effects were. I seemed to remember
that the effects weren't that pronounced in small doses, such as what one would
expect in dosing to sweeten wine. The dosing of wine was what I was referring,
when I mentioned "small amounts". Severe winos, well, they have other
problems, and one might (politically incorrectly, of course) infer that chronic
glycol consumption only speeds up the process of alcohol poisoing.
ps - I noticed the name on the MSDS, Baker Chemical. We use their products
extensively in the lab. Mostly acids, bases and a host of solvents for
extraction.
