Subject: Re: brake upgrades - for spiders?
I was some years ago, when I was looking to upgrade the brakes on a
non-Alfa. Drums in back to discs. Bigger discs in front. I checked
out Wilwood. For all the parts, front and back, I was looking at about
$1700. That included calipers, rotors and some adapter hardware. I
think, maybe also a propertioning valve. I don't remember if it
included a new master cyl or not. A major problem that I had was that
the car wasn't worth it, and likely never would be. I just drove it
accordingly. That is, until I could afford a *real* car, with real brakes.
btw, Wilwood calipers were 4-pot up front and 2-piston in the rear.

Subject: Re: brake upgrades - for spiders?
Hi,
I think $1600 is very expensive for a 2 piston caliper kit. I checked
out www.pitstopusa.com and have found the following:
Superlite or Dynalite 4-pot calipers: $100 each
~300mm Rotors vented: $40 each
hats: $50 each
pads: $50 set
adaptors: ~$100
hoses & fittings: $75
About $600+ and you can get a good setup I think.
If anyone has done a Wilwood upgrade please let me know of any info.
I'm thinking of an upgrade in the future but would like to start
collecting parts now.
