Easy fix, now what? and minor tool gloat
Prelude: Bought a rough Verde last October, drove it for a few months,
and have been working on it ever since. Replacing every hose, bushing,
repairing rust, brake lines, etc.
On the last test drive everything preformed well, but the front
passenger brake sounded like it was dragging. Not good at all.
I've put off working on it since my old air compressor died two weeks
ago. Advice: Don't buy an oil-less compressor at any price. I
replaced it with a monster compressor this weekend:

and installed it in my bathroom (a true man's bathroom):

Now that my pneumatic tools were back online I decided to tackle the
front brake problem. I jacked it up, and spun the wheel... The
terrible grinding noise hadn't fixed itself. After removing the wheel
I inspected the brake. Everything looked fine. After some
head-scratching I realized the brake dust shield was bent, and in
contact with the rotor. I bent it back, and the grinding noise was gone.
Now the dilema: Now what? The car is now in good mechanical shape.
Certainly nothing preventing me from driving it. Problem is, I've been
fixing it for so long, the thought of actually driving it seems a bit
odd. I expected to feel more satisfaction at the end of the project...
I'm afraid I'm developing Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy... Plus how
can I justify buying more tools?
