One easy way to check for a limited slip rear end is if you can jack the
car up turn one of the wheels. If the opposite wheel turns the same
direction the rear end is a limited slip rear end. If they turn in
opposite directions the differantal is open. This will work on most cars.
If the other wheel doesn't move be afraid. Or if the wheels act like they
have zero play between them the spider gears may have been welded together
by someone. You should be able to turn one wheel back and forth some.
There are also ways of testing a LSD with a torque wrench to see if it is
working properly
