Re: Gunson exhaust gas analyser

Dean,

I have had one of these for years. I have never used it on an Alfa, but I
have used it my leaded-fuel Mazda by the up-the-tailpipe method, and on
unleaded Mazdas with a cat by intercepting the exhaust before the cat. It
works well both ways.

As far as how to use it, I just use the guide book which is pretty
comprehensive, and gives a bit of background to fuel/air stoichiometry etc.
From memory, I think that there are some usage guides to fuel injected
cars, but I think that this might apply to the old Lucas injection found on
Triumphs (it is made in the UK after all).

Not as good as a dyno, but worth the investment for giving consistent
measurable tune-ups by the untrained mechanic (like me!).

Hope this is helpful to you.
