Nothing related to fly by wire. it's like 6 generation back abs system by
ATE (yeah the same guy design the self destructing rear brakes on the
milanos)

It uses electric pumps to pump the brake fluid into a pressure reservoir..
somewhere around 160-200 psi (exact number on the workshop manual).

When the brake pedal is pressed, depends on how much pressed, certain
amount of pressurised brake fluid is sent to the pistons.

When the electronic moduel sens wheel locking, it activates the 
pressure relief valve of that channel to unlock the wheel. Oonce
wheel moving again with the rest, pressure relieve valve closed, 
pressured fluid reapplied to the pistons and the cycle continues.

There are only 3 channels, one channel for each front wheels and
one channel shared by both rear wheels (so if one fo the rear wheel's
locked, both wheels' brake fluid pressure is dropped.)

bleeding this system is also really odd.. the rears you can just
open up the bleed valves on the caliper, turn ignition on, the fluid
just flows out. The front calipers bleed just like regular brake system
where somebody must step on the pedal down and up while open/close the
bleed valves.

The failure mode is.. well.. not much  of it.

When the ABS pump falure to build up the pressure, or simply died, there's
zero assist .. if you just stand on the brake pedal.. you are only a little
beeter than not touchning the brake pedal at all.

if only if I can replace this junky with something more updated....
