Jess,
	John K is brilliant!  I was focusing on alignment changes in the 
transaxle.  But John is right.  The alignment changes are more likely to come 
from the engine under load and braking.  If you get the vibration at a 
particular speed, then try accelerating hard from below that speed to above it.  
Then decelerate with both engine and brake techniques.  Then just coast at that 
speed.  If it is an imbalance, all techniques should give the same vibration.  
If it is an alignment problem, then one of these techniques should give more 
vibration than the others.
	You should also jack up the rear, put it in 5th and acclerate the 
engine.  Carefully look under the car at all the drivetrain components in 
motion.  Sometimes you can spot things dynamically that don't show up 
stationary.
	John F also had an interesting guibo break in technique.  I can't 
remember if yours are new or not.
	I love all the collective ideas we can get on the digest.  It makes me 
feel like Homer Simpson when I miss the obvious ones.  DOH!

I would check three items for alignment/wear. First is the splined shaft at
the bell housing. Loosen the locking bolt let the engine idle for a minute
and tighten. Two, check the all three of the motor mounts for wear,
especially the bell housing mount. Three loosen the exhaust pipe from the
manifold rock the engine up and down and retighten. I had a terrible
vibration once from tightening the exhaust from the motor on back, I was
pushing the tail of the bell housing up when I hung the cat on back.
