Charity Auctions

Thanks for the info. I'll have to check out the one in Redwood City.

The two charity lots that folded included "project" cars that were not smoggable and driveable, but quite interesting to car nuts (such as a partially restored and partially assembled Jensen-Healey with an accompanying parts car). I now fear that these go directly to Pick-n-Pull. (and for those reading this from other areas: Pick-n-Pull does not sell whole cars for rebuilding, except for a very few that they select themselves. It is a one-way step towards the crusher for 99% of them.)

I actually helped rescue a late 1970's Lancia a few years ago, via a report to the I-car Digest. The previous owner had not taken care of the car, which would have cost a small fortune to make smog-complaint again. The new owner (Ken H., are you reading this?), bought it, and transplanted a Thema engine and now has a track car.

Ciao,
Karl
