Northern Calif Charity Car Sales
With all the discussion of the rarity of Fiat 131S, Brava, etc, I decided to
take a drive past a charity-owned used car lot near the Santa Clara Home
Depot. CLOSED!
This is the second local charity-owned lot that has folded that I know of. I
find them interesting places to explore (and publicize my findings). They
tend to sell low-value cars that would otherwise be scrapped. For better or
worse, old Fiats tend to fall into that catagory. Last time I was there they
had a 124 Spider, an X1/9, Jensen Healey, Sunbeam Alpine, etc
My question: Does anybody know how most local charities sell-off their
donated vehicles, other than scrapping them? Are there any public outlets
(auction or retail) in Silicon Valley? (I've heard the Salvation Army may
have an auction, which I will look into.)
PS: The last running 131-series car I saw was about 5 years ago. I did see a
puke-green 131S Mirafiori in a San Jose junkyard last year.
Thanks,
Karl
