3.0L V6 cylinder head retorquing
The time has come to re-torque the head bolts on my rebuilt 3.0L V6
(620mi/1000km). I am unclear about the process of re-torquing them. The
service manual says to loosen the nuts one turn, then torque to specified
value. Should I loosen one nut at a time and re-torque... or loosen them all
one turn and then re-torque in the tightening pattern?
Another question:
I am hoping to have about 1000 miles of break-in done to the engine by the
next SoCal AROC driving school (two weeks away). Can I switch to synthetic
oil after only 1000 miles of break-in? I would like to run RedLine 10w40
synthetic oil at the racetrack... but is it too early??
Thanks!
