RE:Milano emissions Q
Try retarding the timing a hair and that should bring it into check. How
close were the other readings? Going too low will effect the other (HC,
CO). And if you haven't done it in a while, change the O2 sensor.. I was
doing cartwheels after getting my 87 Verde to pass emissions ( I have no
cat) and that's what I did. Plus you must have the A/F meter set right but
is you passed CO. Took that inspector a good long time staring at the
Stebro "Cat" , referencing book that had no mention of Alfa's and finally
his supervisor said-Yes that's a cat. Also try taking out you airfilter
when you go through.

Subject: Milano emmissions Q
On the way to work this morning I decided to finally get my Milano
reinspected (after its new water pump, gaskets etc...). Anyhow, it failed
due to not having the front plate affixed, the guy not knowing how to
turn on the high-beams--and NOx. I assume the figures are in ppm (though
there are no units): 1273 allowed, 1581 read. This is in NJ. I take it
new plugs etc won't do much for the NOx, and that its now my turn to call
Discount Converters.... Is that the read from everyone here, or is there
something else to maybe play with? All other readings (HC, O, CO) were
fine.
Regards,
Adam
