Thanks to all that replied to my request on the steering rack of my
GTV-6.  I now have sources for a replacement rack if that indeed is the
primary failure.  I am going to pull the thing apart this weekend and
check the entire front end.  many have pointed out other items that
could cause these symptoms or at least contribute to them.

BTW, I think I would be willing to part with this beast if there is any
interest out there.  It is basically a very nice, very fast GTV-6 3.0S.
It does need some cosmetics at this point.  The front windshield posts,
rear wheel well tops and around the shock towers are showing wear and
rust.  Interior is good, not great with the drivers seat beginning to
show wear and a couple of very small dash cracks.  I can send pictures
to anyone interested.  I have a 1967 Guila Sprint GT Veloce I really
want to restore and the GTV-6 keeps getting in the way.  Please contact
me off digest with questions.
