I've never heard of a Spica injected car having a problem as a result of
elevating the rear end, even with a tired pump.

I wouldn't panic yet. If you're not hearing catastrophic sounds from the
motor I doubt you could have done much damage, if any at all.

It certainly sounds as if some fluid is getting somewhere it doesn't belong,
could be oil in the combustion chamber and it could be something else.

Before I went too much further, I'd take a look at the gas that is coming
out of the pump. I'd also drain the oil again (make sure you drain it from
the pump as well). If you have gas in the oil, you have pump problems. If
you have oil in the gas, you have pump problems. If you're getting oil into
the combustion chamber and it's not coming from the pump, then you could
have other problems, but again, I don't think you ruined your motor.

I think the fact that you had fluid coming out of the vapor tube should be a
clue. My brain is too faded to think what might be causing it, but I'd
suspect that's the cause of your smoking.

First thing to check, however, is the oil that's in the sump right now, pay
special attention to see how much gas (if any) is in it, and as you drain it
hold a light up to what's coming out to see if there are any metal particles
in it.

Fingers crossed,

bs
