Twin Spark transplants

I have just returned from an extended holiday through Thailand and Cambodia, 
and I am wondering what happened to the Twin Spark transplant tread that was 
running when I left. The was also a lot of talk about getting a batch of 
motors from Italy.

I am on the cusp of making this decision here in Japan as any service or 
maintenance for my Spica spider is simply unavailable, and the conversion 
cost to Webers is prohibitively high.

Additionally if anyone has concrete information concerning these transplants 
please let me know.
